A small plane crashed into a residential area in Limburgerhof in the German state of Rhineland-Palatinate on Saturday. Both occupants were killed.
The crash occurred around 11:30 a.m. over a residential area on the outskirts of the municipality in Rhineland-Palatinate. Debris spread for hundreds of meters and came down on houses, garages and front gardens. Miraculously, there were no casualties in the residential area where the debris landed. Only a passerby suffered minor injuries.
German tabloid Bild was able to record that witnesses heard a loud bang, possibly an explosion in the air, before the crash. One resident found a large piece of wreckage outside his front door: "We all could have been dead," he explained. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
