US President Donald Trump reported on Wednesday that Iran has agreed not to possess nuclear weapons and that the Iranian Ayatollah is involved in negotiations with the United States. "They have already agreed not to have nuclear weapons," Trump said in an interview for a podcast on Iran on Wednesday.

In "The New York Post" podcast Pod Force One, the U.S. president also stated that Iranian Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei is directly involved in the talks and gives his approval to the negotiations. Moreover, the president said he may meet the Iranian leader in person in the future.

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio hinted on Tuesday that there may be rapid progress on the dossier. According to Rubio, Iran is now open to talks on parts of its nuclear program. This is a breakthrough since, according to him, the country categorically refused to do so until recently.

"There is an opportunity on the table - today, tomorrow or next week - that for the first time, Iran is willing to negotiate aspects of its nuclear program that it did not even want to discuss a month or a year ago," Rubio said.

Meanwhile, the bloody conflict in the Middle East continues. For example, Iran carried out a drone attack on the airport in the Kuwaiti capital. One person was killed and 63 others were injured and taken to hospital. There is a lot of material damage to the passenger area in Terminal 1. Air traffic had to be halted for a while on Wednesday, but was able to resume after a few hours. This was reported by Kuwait's foreign and defense ministries.

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps has claimed responsibility for the attacks on the Kuwaiti airport. It says it is in retaliation for U.S. attacks on an Iranian tanker and an island. "In response to this aggression, the Ali al-Salem air base in Kuwait, where helicopters are stationed, and the headquarters of the U.S. Fifth Fleet in Bahrain have been attacked with Revolutionary Guard missiles and drones," the Iranian Revolutionary Guard said on their official Telegram channel.
