Top Spanish DJ diagnosed with cancer inspires crowds at Tomorrowland from his wheelchair

Spanish DJ B Jones made an impressive comeback at Tomorrowland after a grueling battle with lymph node cancer. She performed on the Main Stage in a wheelchair, but above all, she demonstrated just how much strength lies in perseverance, hope, and a love of music.

Beatriz Martínez, as B Jones is really named, was forced to put her career on hold earlier this year after doctors diagnosed her with lymphoma following tests and a biopsy. What followed was months of treatment with aggressive chemotherapy, a period during which her body was put through the wringer. Yet she continued to keep her fans updated on her recovery and held fast to one goal: returning to Tomorrowland.

That goal gave her direction during the darkest moments. On Instagram, she shared that she continued to make music throughout her recovery and even wrote new songs about pain, resistance, and healing. With songs like “Side Effects” and “Resisteré,” she gave her illness a voice, but above all, she conveyed a message of resilience: turning pain into light and inspiring others to persevere.

That symbolism was also evident on the festival grounds. B Jones joked that she might be the first DJ in a wheelchair at Tomorrowland, but added that someone had to be the first. That statement perfectly summed up her performance. The focus wasn’t on her disability, but on the determination with which she reclaimed her spot on the Main Stage.

Afterward, the prevailing sentiments were relief and pride. She said that her performance had been a personal goal during her treatment and that the thought of it helped her keep going, even on difficult days. The audience witnessed not only the comeback of a global dance artist, but also that of a woman who has turned her struggle into inspiration for thousands of others. B Jones thus proves that a serious diagnosis doesn’t have to mean the end of a dream. Her return to Tomorrowland was more than just a set: it became a message of courage, perseverance, and humanity.
