Last night a large-scale drone attack struck Moscow and the surrounding area. At least three people were killed and 12 injured in this Ukrainian air strike on the Moscow region. This was reported by Russian authorities on Sunday morning.

Regional Governor Andrei Vorobyov informed via Telegram that a woman died when a residence in Khimki (north of Moscow) was hit. It happened just as a rescue team was pulling someone from the rubble. In the village of Pogorelki in Mytishchi district, two men were killed.

In addition, several high-rise apartment buildings and infrastructure facilities were damaged. This was reported by the Russian governor.

Mayor Sergei Sobyanin indicated that three homes were damaged and confirmed the 12 injured. Most were workers at a construction site near a refinery. Apparently, production was not disrupted by the airstrikes.

Over 120 Ukrainian drones were shot down by the Russians in the past 24 hours. This was reported by Moscow. According to the Russian Defense Ministry, a total of 556 drones were shot down overnight and in the morning over the entire country, including the Moscow region.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had threatened retaliatory attacks on Russian oil and military targets on Friday, in response to Russia's large-scale attack on Kiev earlier this week.

According to the Ukrainian military, Russia fired 675 drones and 56 missiles on Wednesday night alone. 652 and 41 were intercepted, respectively. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky spoke of "more than 1,560 drones" in less than 24 hours.

Ukraine has been resisting the Russian invasion for more than four years.
