On Friday, Russia carried out a deadly attack on a drone demonstration near Kyiv, killing ten people, according to Ukrainian sources. In total, at least fifteen people were killed that day in Russian attacks on Ukraine, while approximately one hundred people were injured when a strike hit a military demonstration for the defense sector.

The attack struck a training site where representatives of the Ukrainian defense industry were present. According to President Volodymyr Zelensky, it was a public gathering that should never have taken place during wartime, especially not so close to residential areas. Ukrainian prosecutors are now investigating who organized the gathering and what security measures had been taken.

Russia fires ballistic missiles

The Ukrainian Air Force reported that Russia had fired three ballistic missiles and that only one could be intercepted. Russia confirmed the attack and stated that the target was a site where drone developers were demonstrating technology intended for use against Russian civilian targets.

Russian glide bombs

In addition to the casualties near Kyiv, five people were killed by Russian glide bombs in Sloviansk, in the eastern part of the country. In the northern city of Sumy, two more deaths were confirmed on Saturday morning. Meanwhile, Zelensky warned that, according to intelligence reports, Russia may be preparing another large-scale missile attack within 48 hours.

Tensions also escalated following a Ukrainian attack on the Russian city of Kirov, where, according to Kyiv, a major military factory was struck. In addition, warehouses belonging to the online retailer Wildberries were hit in Russia, an action that Kyiv views as an attempt to disrupt Russian military supply lines. The war remained palpable along the Romanian border as well: on Friday, a Romanian F-16 shot down a Russian drone that had entered the airspace of the NATO country.
