Despite the rumors, the Sussexes are continuing their collaboration with Netflix. After the documentary series "Polo", they're at it again, on the same subject, but from a different angle.
While the aim of the documentary was to shed light on a "niche" sport, immersing viewers in the highly competitive world of professional polo, the project here is more geared towards entertainment. In a fictional drama whose central theme remains polo, we would see two rival families clash, both based in the heart of a Floridian city where polo is a true institution.
While the Hollywood bible Variety claimed in a lengthy dossier that Meghan Markle was giving Netflix teams a hard time, the American platform seems to be brushing aside these rumors with the announcement of this new collaboration.
What Variety said in an in-depth investigation
"Netflix bosses are totally exhausted by Meghan. She didn't have any good ideas, ratings were bad and, on top of that, she imposed a very aggressive communication style." Despite all this, and despite disappointing figures, Netflix has decided to amend certain clauses of the contract signed with the couple in 2020 in order to extend its duration.
