A 31 year old man from Switzerland injured three people with a knife in the station of Winterthur, near Zurich Thursday morning. Police were able to catch the man.
"Shortly after 8:30 a.m. (06:30 GMT), a man injured three people with a knife at the Winterthur train station. The suspect, a 31-year-old Swiss citizen, was detained by the police," the Zurich cantonal police reported.
Police reported that "the motives for the attack are being investigated." Images circulated by several Swiss media outlets and on social media show the alleged perpetrator, a man with long brown hair and dressed in a dark T-shirt and shorts, running in front of the station while shouting "Allah Akbar."
"The three victims, all Swiss nationals, are a 28, 43 and 52 years old. They were all taken to the hospital," police still said. It did not disclose how badly the victims were injured.
Zurich Cantonal Police, Winterthur Municipal Police, Swiss Railways Transportation Police, Winterthur Cantonal Hospital Emergency Service and Zurich Rescue and Assistance Service came to the scene.
