The USA and Israel attacked Iran on February 28, 2026, as US President Donald Trump calls for the overthrow of the government. Trump announced the start of the military operation on Truth, declaring his intention to destroy Teheran's military apparatus. A new, and potentially terrible war front is opening up.
As reported by the New York Times, explosions were reported in the Iranian capital just as the start of a large-scale US-led offensive was announced. Anti-aircraft sirens also sounded in Israel.
Residents of Teheran reported seeing smoke rising from the district housing the presidential palace and the National Security Council.
Iranian sources confirm all these reports.
Thick smoke was observed in the center of Teheran. The explosions were reported to have occurred at several points in the capital and in several other Iranian cities, reports the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA). The Israeli regime and US President Donald Trump subsequently claimed responsibility for the attack.
Iran closed its airspace.
