Virginie Efira, who has shared her life with actor Niels Schneider since 2018, gave birth to her second child, named Hiro, in 2023. Today, she opens up about her life as a mother.
"Ali's birth had transformed my own relationship with the world. It took me a long time to rediscover my identity, to allow myself a place. Then Hiro came along. Allowing myself the right to be moody totally relaxed me." Virginie Efira, who shares her life with a man 10 years her junior, added that age was just a number, and that it shouldn't take up so much space in our lives. "I sincerely believe that age is just one factor among many. Age is often a projection, whereas for people who love each other, time vanishes completely."
Speaking to Madame Figaro, the Belgian actress reflects on her role as a mother in a blended family: "Being four, we have the opportunity to share our time. I often go on nice little trips on my own with Ali, or spend an evening alone with Hiro, who at two-and-a-half years old is already talking about a lot of things." A balance that totally satisfies her. "I inevitably have to make sacrifices. But I'm not complaining, I'm a fulfilled mother."
