The Pokémon universe is ready to go beyond the screen and transform itself into an immersive physical experience. The Pokémon Company has just announced the opening of PokéPark KANTO, the first permanent outdoor Pokémon theme park.
The park is scheduled to open on 5 February 2026. The park will be located inside Yomiuriland, the historic amusement park in Tokyo's Tama Hills, and will cover an area of around 26,000 square metres, making it a must-see destination for all fans.
A park inspired by video games
PokéPark KANTO has been designed to make visitors feel like real Pokémon trainers. The entire site faithfully reproduces the iconic settings of the video games, combining nature, surprising encounters and exploration. The park will be home to more than 600 Pokémon, from the Kanto region as well as from other generations, scattered around environments that encourage discovery.
The Pokémon Forest: discovering the wilderness
The Pokémon Forest is undoubtedly the park's most adventurous attraction, a vast natural area stretching for almost 500 metres. Here, visitors can wander along hilly paths, through tall grass, over rocks, through tunnels and wooded areas... and meet Pokémon running, watching, playing or sharing berries. Some will be clearly visible, others hidden in the wild vegetation or perched in raised areas, arousing curiosity and drawing the eye. The aim? To create the feeling of an authentic exploration, without screens or compulsory devices.
Sedge Town: a meeting place
Next to the forest is Sedge Town, a small town designed as a meeting point for Pokémon and trainers. Here you'll find the Pokémon Center, the Poké Mart, the Pokémon Trainers' Market, a sports hall for battles and events, and various themed attractions, including a Pokémon parade. At the centre of the village is the Primarina Fountain, a symbolic place dedicated to meetings, photos and relaxation.
The price remains a mystery
The interest in PokéPark KANTO is enormous: tickets for the opening have been allocated by lottery, with validity from 5 February to 31 March 2026. After this date, it will be possible to buy up to two tickets per person without a draw. Official prices have yet to be announced, but excitement is already running high.
PokéPark KANTO is set to become an iconic attraction worldwide!
