Kuwait's air defense systems have been a little too zealous and inadvertently shot down three U.S. F-15 fighter jets.
The three F-15E Strike Eagles were taking part in Operation Epic Fury against Iran when they were accidentally shot down over Kuwait. The crew members were miraculously able to escape safe and sound from their aircraft and are in good health, the U.S. Army Middle East Command (Centcom) confirmed. "Kuwait has acknowledged the incident and we are grateful for the efforts of Kuwaiti forces and their support in the ongoing operation," it said. An investigation into the cause of the incident is ongoing, but it appears that it was so-called 'friendly fire'. This is what CNN and Bloomberg report after analyzing official reports. Such F-15 fighter jets cost millions of dollars, news channel CNN further emphasizes.
