The Princess of Wales, who has been in remission for just over a year, wanted to send a message of hope to all those battling cancer.
On February 4, to mark World Cancer Day, Kate Middleton showed her support to cancer patients in a video posted on the Instagram account she shares with her husband, Prince William.
The images posted show the princess exchanging a few words with patients in a hospital. In a voiceover, she addresses those suffering from the disease: "On this World Cancer Day, my thoughts are with everyone facing a cancer diagnosis, undergoing treatment or recovering". She also uses the video to talk about the impact of cancer on those around her: "Cancer touches so many lives. Not only the patients, but also their families, their friends and the carers who support them".
She adds optimistically: "As anyone who has lived through this experience knows, the journey is not linear. There are moments of fear and exhaustion, but also moments of strength, kindness and deep connection". She also stresses "the importance of kindness, understanding and deep connection". "Know that you are not alone", she concludes.
In early 2024, Kate Middleton was diagnosed with cancer, forcing her to reduce her public appearances. It was in January 2025 that her remission was announced.
