Police have arrested 32-year-old Iraqi Mohammad Al-Saadi for coordinating attacks against Jewish targets in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Liège, Antwerp, London and even the US. The man is suspected of being the alleged mastermind who directed others, not as the perpetrator who himself planted the bomb, to set fire or carry out the attack. He is also alleged to have close ties to the Iranian regime. The man is allegedly responsible for organizing the attacks on the Jewish school Cheider in Buitenveldert and office complex Atrium in the Zuidas.

Iraqi Mohammad Baqer Saad Dawood al-Saadi (usually called Mohammad Al-Saadi ) is considered by U.S. authorities to be the alleged mastermind behind a coordinated series of anti-Semitism terrorist attacks in Europe, including in Liège, Antwerp, Amsterdam and Rotterdam. He is a commander in the pro-Iranian militia Kata'ib Hezbollah, which is linked to Iran's IRGC.

He is charged with 6 terrorist crimes: planning, carrying out and promoting about 20 attacks in Europe and 2 in Canada since March 2026. He targeted mainly Jewish, Israeli and American institutions such as synagogues (including Liège on May 3), Jewish schools (Cheider Amsterdam), office buildings and Bank of America branches. Each time, the attacks were claimed by "Ashab al-Yamin." In addition, Al-Saadi also allegedly planned attacks on New York and California Jewish institutions, which, however, have not yet been carried out.

In addition to the targets in Amsterdam in mid-March, he allegedly also coordinated an explosion at a synagogue in Rotterdam during the same period, as well as an attempted arson attack at a Christians for Israel building in Nijkerk in early April.

The Iraqi thirty-something was arrested in Turkey this week and was extradited to the United States. He was transferred to federal court in Manhattan, New York. According to the indictment, Mohammad Baqer Saad Dawood al-Saadi directed others to commit attacks in retaliation for the war in the Middle East. He is due to appear in court in New York later this month.
