German police looking for owner who left damaged Porsche behind

Who on earth leaves a sports car worth at least 220,000 euros by the side of the road? This glaring question has kept Germany on its toes for a week.

Police are looking for the driver/owner of a Porsche 911 GT3 that was left aside a field after a crash on the A66 motorway towards Frankfurt. A remarkable story from the German state of Hesse.

The accident involving the Porsche happened on Thursday, April 30, near the Hanau-Nord interchange, about 20 kilometers from Frankfurt. Witnesses saw the driver of the Porsche hit the brakes hard at an exit a little after 8:30 in the evening. The man then lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the guardrail twice. After that, the Porsche tumbled. The car finally came to a halt a little further down a road near Bruchköbel. The car's door was open when it was found by puzzled passersby, who then contacted the police.

Serbian license plates

The person who was behind the wheel of the Porsche 911 GT3 fled on foot and has since disappeared without a trace. It is still not clear who the driver was, nor whether he was the owner of the Porsche. The fact that the Porsche has Serbian license plates only adds to the complexity of the strange case. Who leaves such an extremely expensive sports car, even if it was damaged, and why? The German police have already spent a lot of time on this bizarre investigation case.
