Kyrgyzstan, once part of the Soviet bloc and today known for its spectacular landscapes, is taking an important step toward energy independence and environmental sustainability. Kyrgyz Republic President Sadyr Japarov has promoted the development of new energy infrastructure in the Kemin district, reaching a historic milestone. This project is part of a series of official initiatives to modernize the country and meet today's energy challenges using renewable resources.

Capacity and carbon reduction.

The solar plant, presented on the presidency's official website, will have an installed capacity of 100MWp. This capacity represents an important step forward in diversifying Kyrgyzstan's energy mix. The main goal of the infrastructure is to reduce the country's carbon footprint. It's estimated that the plant will produce some 210,000MWh of clean electricity annually, enough to meet the needs of about 70,000 households, while avoiding the emission of 120,000 tons of CO₂ per year.

A cleaner energy future

The initiative reflects the institutions' desire to integrate environmental policy with economic development. The presidency of the Kyrgyz Republic actively promotes these projects and emphasizes the central role of the Constitution and reforms in ensuring a greener future for citizens, as well as the importance of the energy sector for manufacturing, mining, services, agriculture and many other sectors. The management of such initiatives is supported by a civil service focused on transparency and dialogue with the people.

"The opening of the solar power plant marks the beginning of a crucial phase for strengthening our country's energy independence and developing renewable energy sources. We are aware that it will be impossible to supply everyone - citizens and economic players - with electricity until we resolutely commit to the development of renewable energy sources," said President Sadyr Japarov, drawing attention to a package of major investment projects currently under development in the sector.
