On the Spanish island of Fuerteventura, a 56-year-old Belgian woman was found dead in a garbage dump.
56-year-old Katty Oosterlinck lived on the Canary Island, but her family members have been unable to contact her for several days. She was reported missing on Monday, May 4.
She was searched for days, but it was not until Friday that she was found dead in the Zurita landfill, on the west coast of Fuerteventura. Investigations at the island's forensic hospital must now determine whether the woman was murdered or the victim of a crime.
According to Spanish media, the Guardia Civil has arrested the woman's 22-year-old son as the main suspect. Investigators are keeping all avenues open, but everything seems to point to the son's suspected direct involvement in the woman's death.
